Primary School PE and Sport Funding
Sport in school is co-ordinated by Miss Hayley
Howard and Mrs Sarah Kirkbride. During this
academic year they will be responsible for
ensuring that staff receive continuing
professional development through watching
quality coaches deliver sport as well as
providing children with competitive
opportunities and after school clubs at Maryport
Church of England Junior.
The government is providing additional funding
of £150 million per annum to improve provision
of physical education (PE) and sport in primary
schools. Funding for schools will be calculated
by reference to the number of primary-aged
pupils (between the ages of 5 and 11), as
recorded in the annual schools census. This year
(2016-17), Maryport CE Junior School will
receive £8660 Sports Premium Funding.
This year 'Sports Funding' money will be used in
the following ways:

curriculum time for tennis, multi-skills,

and football. This is to provide children
with high quality experiences as well as CPD
