St Mary's Church

Our school is closely linked to St Mary's Church in the Parish of Maryport.

Reverend Susan McKendrey is a frequent visitor to the school for assemblies as well as contributing to, and delivering collective worship. She is also a Foundation Governor of the school. Special services and celebrations are held in the Church throughout the year, for example at Harvest, Easter, Christmas and the Year 6 Leavers' Service in July. The school choir also sings at the Mother's Day Service each year. Parents and friends of the school, past and present, are always welcome to join us.

As a Church of England School, our collective worship and school policies reflect Christian values and beliefs appropriate to the ages of the children entrusted to us. However, parents do have the right to remove their child from collective worship should they wish to do so. We encourage parents to discuss such a move with us beforehand.

As a church school we are also inspected under the National Society Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodists Schools Report (SIAMS) framework. Our last inspection was in October 2014. Please click the here to read the full report.
